☁ Multi-Device Sync (Firebase)

Firebase lets your platform work across all devices in real time. When a ticket is sold on any phone or computer, every other device updates instantly. All data is stored securely in Google Firebase — free up to 1GB.

Setup guide (10 minutes)

Create a free Firebase project

Go to console.firebase.google.com and sign in with your Google account. Click Add project, name it piton-pathways-raffle, disable Google Analytics, and click Create.

Enable Realtime Database

In your project go to Build → Realtime Database → Create Database. Choose us-central1 as the region. Select Start in test mode and click Enable.

Get your Firebase config

Go to Project Settings → General → Your apps. Click the </> web icon, name the app anything, click Register. Copy the firebaseConfig values shown — you will need the apiKey, databaseURL, projectId, and authDomain.

The Database URL is the minimum required field — you can also find it in Realtime Database → Data at the top of the page.

Share the site with your sellers and co-admins

Once connected, every device that opens pitonpathways.com sees live data. Sellers use their own portal as usual. Admins sign in and see all tickets in real time — no matter which device added them.

💳 WiPay Caribbean — Card Payment Setup

WiPay is a Caribbean-built payment processor that natively supports the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD). It allows buyers to pay by Visa, Mastercard, or local cards — and payouts go directly to your Eastern Caribbean bank account.

✓ XCD fully supported — WiPay charges customers and pays out merchants in Eastern Caribbean Dollars. No currency conversion needed.

Create a WiPay merchant account

Go to wipaycaribbean.com and register as a merchant. Select Saint Lucia as your country. You will need to provide your business name, bank account details, and a valid ID. Approval typically takes 1–3 business days.

Once approved, log in to your WiPay merchant dashboard to get your credentials.

Get your Account Number and API Key

In your WiPay merchant dashboard, go to Settings → API and copy:

API Key — your secret key for authenticating payments

Set your WiPay environment

WiPay has a sandbox (testing) and live environment. Use sandbox first to test payments without real money, then switch to live when ready.

How WiPay payments work on your platform

Once your credentials are saved, a Pay by Card (WiPay) button appears alongside the PayPal button on every ticket purchase page. When a buyer clicks it:

1. They are redirected to WiPay secure checkout
2. They enter their Visa or Mastercard details
3. WiPay charges them in EC$ (XCD)
4. They are returned to your site and the ticket is registered
5. A confirmation email is sent automatically

Note: WiPay requires a return URL — your Netlify site URL is used automatically.

Fees and payouts

WiPay charges a processing fee per transaction (typically 3.5% for local cards, 4.5% for international cards — confirm exact rates in your merchant agreement). Payouts are made to your Eastern Caribbean bank account in XCD on a scheduled basis set in your merchant dashboard. No currency conversion occurs.
